List of Pokemon that Has Been Buffed/Nerfed After Recent CP Update in Pokemon GO

Niantic is changing the combat power of some Pokemon in Pokemon Go.

The news of this major update came on Niantic’s website today, with the company announcing that certain Pokemon will have their maximum CP lowered and some will have it raised. The company said that they are doing this to create a “balanced and competitive battling and training experience.” Players will notice this change immediately, not having to wait until the next time they power up any given Pokemon.

Specifically, Niantic mentions that Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar are three Pokemon that are having their maximum CP increased. Niantic has not provided any examples of which Pokemon will have their CP decreased, but this category includes Pikachu and Porygon among many others.

Niantic also suggested that they may continue to make CP adjustments in the future and that this is not a one time change.

Based on research conducted by the Silph Road subreddit, here is a list of which Pokemon have received a boost in CP and which have received a reduction:

And here is the full announcement of this major update from Niantic:

Trainers,

We have made adjustments to the CP (Combat Power) of various Pokémon. Some Pokémon, such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar will have their CP increased. Others will have their CP lowered. These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms. We will continue to adjust the CP going forward to improve the game balance when necessary.
