The Witch & The Hundred Knight Revival has been announced for PS4, bringing the previously last-gen PS3 Action RPG from Nippon Ichi onto next-gen consoles. Hopefully the game-breaking glitch that deleted all your save data on the PS3 version will be fixed for this release.
Check out this launch trailer for the original PS3 version of The Witch & the Hundred Knight.
The enhanced port is being described as a “Director’s Cut” of the original PlayStation 3 version. It will feature upgraded visuals and tweaks & fixes to the original gameplay based on user feedback; which, as mentioned above, will hopefully make it completely playable without any game-breaking bugs.
Not announced yet for the West, The Witch & the Hundred Knight Revival will hit Japan on September 25, 2015; and will surely be released in the West to get the RPG into the hands of PS4 owners looking for their JRPG fix.
It’s worth noting that the PS3 version was released both in physical & digital form, and also had a Collector’s Edition version (called the “Witch and the Hundred Knight Premium Collector’s Edition w/Metallia Figure”) which included a 44-page hardcover artbook, a Metallia Nendoroid Petit figurine, and a soundtrack CD on two discs. It retails for a pricey $130 on Amazon and will certainly become a rare find, with only three copies left on Amazon as of this writing. No word on whether the PS4 version will also get a limited edition, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
This story takes place in a familiar-sounding but twisted fantasy world.
In a small forest adjacent to the Amataya kingdom lives the ugly, disgusting, and wholly unlikable Forest Witch. The genius Swamp Witch, who has a perfect figure and lusty voice, also lives nearby.
As if the two were competing to learn whose magic is the strongest, they have constantly been bickering and battling for 100 years. Then one day, the Swamp Witch finds a legendary soldier slumbering in the depths of darkness, toppling the 100-year balance.
From the makers of the acclaimed Disgaea series comes an action RPG in which being bad can be a good thing!
Full of the same dark humor and mischief beloved by hardcore gamers, The Witch and the Hundred Knights tells of two witches locked in a vicious, hundred-year feud.
As the Swamp Witch (a self-proclaimed genius), players will command 100 powerful Knights in hopes of finally defeating her long time foe, the Forest Knight. It’s time to finally settle the feud, but whether the Knights are good or evil is up to you.
