Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Armor Upgrade Perks
How to find missing Armor Upgrades?: You can acquire both Armor Perks by the end of “Chapter 4: Escape!”.
– Getting Armor Perk 1: Collect 100 helmets. Most helmets can be found lying around at the end of the “Prologue: German Alps” chapter, in the Research Center’s warehouse area. After you get your weapon there, you can go through all of the closets, desks and desk drawers to find as many helmets as you can see.
– Getting Armor Perk 2: Overcharge your armor to 200. Once you’ve unlocked Armor Perk 1, Perk 2 is best obtained in “Chapter 4: Escape!”. Once you reach the Village Tavern on the other side of the Paderborn Bridge to rendezvous with Kessler & Annette. At that point you’ll be barricading yourself into the tavern, giving you time before the boss fight to pick up all the Armor items in quick succession! This will overcharge your Armor to over 200 Armor points, enough to unlock the second Armor Perk.
In-game the Armor Upgrade Perks look like items with the ‘Shield’ armor icon on it that you can pick up to collect when you stand next to it. They will be hidden in locked closets but mostly on desks, the floor and such. It can be confirmed as being Armor Upgrades simply by walking up to & looking at it, as the on-screen icon will then indicate you can press the action button/key (X on Xbox / Square on PlayStation) to pick up the Armor Upgrade item.
Tip: By holding down the back/select-button you can see how many collectibles you have found in the current mission.
Note: Although no collectibles are missable, you can search for missing items via chapter select at any time during or after completing the story. In chapter select you can see how many collectibles you have found per level. You can of course also open up the collectible menu while playing a chapter.
Does the game save each Armor Upgrade you collect?: Yes, the game will automatically save the Armor Upgrades you just collected (granted you picked up the Armor Upgrade you encounter), so you don’t have to play to the next checkpoint or the end of the chapter. After picking up each collectible you will get confirmation via the achievement / trophy popping up on-screen telling you Perk I and/or II is unlocked. And your progress even carries over to a brand new game. Which is ideal when you’re playing on a higher difficulty level on your second playthrough, since you can then max out both your Armor AND your Health (check the list at the top of this page to see we have guides for both).
