Best Item Builds in Dragon Nest

Written By Leynard Ondar on Saturday, September 1, 2012 | 11:42 PM

Dragon Nest SEA players has finally grasped the Level 50 Cap last August 28, 2012. With the level 50 Cap, a lot of things have changed including, the skill tree of each Dragon Nest Online classes, a new map has been included namely Lotus Marsh and new dungeon too like the Archbishop Nest, and most of all, Dragon Nest Items has also changed. What did change in the Dragon Nest SEA items? Well, aside from the addition of level 50 items in Dragon Nest and the Archbishop set, the effect of each suffixes in the Dragon Nest SEA items has changed.

During the level 50 Cap, the most loved suffix is the HP because it so good in PVP, especially in Ladder Matches and, it can also save your life in PVE. It's because the HP suffix on Dragon Nest gears at Level 40 Cap do stack up. To be more specific, there are times that all five suffix applied in your equipment will activated simultaneously, giving you large HP recovery percentage. But, when level 50 Cap has finally arrived, that changes! Now, the HP suffix don't stack at all. So, it's really a bad idea creating five parts of your equips with HP suffix.

Now that you know that, I will share to you a Dragon Nest SEA Item Guide (suffixes) which will be your reference on what suffixes you'll need to be more efficient in both PVE and PVP. Do note that this item guide will focus on recommended suffixes on your gears, accessories and plates which will suite your class. And lastly, these are only suggestions was created with the help from different players in Dragon Nest SEA from Hollywood server. In the end, you're the only one who can decide what Item/Equipment Build you want for your character in Dragon Nest SEA. So without further a do, here's my item guide for Dragon Nest SEA:

Important Notes: The gears that will be used in this item build will be those high-end gears. To be more specific, I advice that you go with Apocalypse/Manticore set, Immortal Set or Totem Set or even mixed to acquire your expected output. In addition to this, I strongly suggest that you upgrade the suffix of your gears to Suffix 2. For a guide on how to do this, check out my Suffix II guide in Dragon Nest.

Can you make a guide on low level item guide?

October 2, 2012 at 11:03 AM

Crusader and Guardian are different
Crusader focus on both magic and physical
I recommend you people more magic than physical
Because Many Skills From Crusader Are Magical Damage
Flail/Mace - Magic Power
Shield - Magic Power
Glove - HP
Shoe- HP
Others - Wind For Critical

Accessory
For More Hp - Use Ancient Totem SET/ Healthy ACCS
For Ultimate - Discipline Apocalypse SET

Light + Ultimate OR Damage + Critical OR Ultimate + Critical

October 4, 2012 at 3:38 PM

by the way, which is the better to choose plate between 3rd with str or 3rd with agi???

October 5, 2012 at 4:54 AM

I think not based on experience.

October 5, 2012 at 4:55 AM

I have lots of request going for pve or pvp builds nowadays. So, I will do it for the sake of those enthusiastic visitors in my blog.hehe. It may take a few days to do so sir so please stay tuned in. I often post new pages every weekend.

October 5, 2012 at 4:58 AM

Hmm. I think AGI is more beneficial than Str. If you plan to go with an attacker type then go with AGI. Per 1 AGI it will give you .25 or .50 (depending on your class) more attack power and 3.5 critical while str only gives boost in HP and the same attack power. Best you check this page sir: http://webjunkiesblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/dragon-nest-sea-stats-info-for-all.html

October 7, 2012 at 11:28 AM

what is the best equipment for a barbarian, totem set or immortal set? or 3 immortal and 4 totem(with final damage of 420).? thanks. ^^ .

October 7, 2012 at 10:57 PM

hahaha. In terms of PVP, there isn't really no best class. They are all the best. But for me, my choice whould be Saleana, Sniper and Gearmaster. I have my fair share of success with these class in ladder matches

October 7, 2012 at 10:59 PM

It depends upon your taste sir.hehehe. The 4 Immortal plus 4 totem sounds great to build your FD. You can acquire the max FD very easy and you can also make your critical high. That is a good idea sir so go with it.

may i ask?
what suffix is better for nest?
STR or WIND?
as we know, str give PATK,
WIND give crit
my job is barbarian

Anonymous
October 12, 2012 at 1:03 PM

I think that str is very important bcoz it boost the atk dmg rather than crit that only gives a chance to get high dmg. So if str evry hit hurts a lot. right?

Hi there can you explain why your inquisitor weapon choice is mace/flail and not wand? Cause i saw other inquisitor carries wand instead of mace/flail.
Really confuse. hope you can help out. Thanks.

October 16, 2012 at 9:58 PM

Hello sir. Sorry, my bad. its suppose to be wand not flail or mace for Inquisitor. I am really sorry for the confusion

October 22, 2012 at 9:44 PM

why destruction plate/rings for inquisitor? destruction is for physical damage right? inquisitor is magic damage then magicians plate is the right one? why bear too(str?
my accessories is twilight manticore set that gives %9 light attack...its that good?

October 26, 2012 at 7:28 AM

hi its me again..Can i Ask? do u had a smasher skill build ?

October 26, 2012 at 9:17 PM

Thanks for the guide! One question, isn't HP suffixes useless now that it has less than 1% heal per activation?

Also, for magic user build (squishy):

Head: Intellect
Top: Intellect
Bottom: Intellect
Glove: HP
Shoe: HP

Isn't it better to have Iron Wall for magic users since they're weak against physical attacks naturally, and do vice versa for physical damagers?

Because Intellect reduces magical damage, while Iron Wall reduces physical damage.

Thanks a lot. Hope you can answer this because I've been looking everywhere for an answer.

October 29, 2012 at 8:39 PM

Yes it does have a slight disadvantage having HP option nowadays. But the fact is, still, its very useful in PVP especially in Ladder Matches. If you are planning to get Iron Wall, then I think it's a good idea. However, take note that I did recommend HP option because of its stat effects (which means that your HP will have a significant increase). And I think if you are really concern with increasing your physical or magical defense, then there's the plate to do that.

By the way, you can go with full Intellect or Wind option if you are going PVE. In my case, I have 1 set totem which have all Wind option for PVE purposes and for PVP, I got:

Head: Wind
Top: Wind
Bottom: Wind
Glove: HP
Shoe: HP
Main Weapon: Fatal
Secondary Weapon: Restraint

October 29, 2012 at 8:43 PM

Owww. Pardon my stupidity. I meant Smasher not majesty.hehehe

October 31, 2012 at 7:49 AM

Thanks a whole lot Leynard! I'll go with this then:

Head: Intellect
Top: Intellect
Bottom: Intellect
Glove: HP
Shoe: HP
Weapon x2: Intellect

I chose dual Intellect weapons to maximize dmg boost on single target while not relying on luck, such as Fire Prefix activating while dishing Magma Punch instead of Wave.

As for defence, I'll plate it.

Thanks and best regards,

Good day Leynard Ondar. Love your guide, it's very complete. One thing though, I'm here to ask about HP Suffix. CC Squashed the HP suffix, but since its CD is also squashed to only 5secs, isn't it better for us to go for it?

(For example)

Head:(Depending on class)
Top: HP
Bottom: HP
Glove: HP
Shoe: HP

Since 4x HP can rack up pretty good HP + Heal you up. Imagine activating it every 5 seconds. Perfect for PVP and survivability. I heard some people recovered more than they received in PVP, not sure if this is true.

I'm thinking it's not though, because according to your guide "HP is not stackable". That means it won't activate together (which I'm guessing it shares CD?). If so, then if a person has 60,000HP, they'd only heal a maximum of 450 once every 5 seconds with 25% probability.

What do you say about this, against your guide? I hope I get to see your explanation before I go ahead with my really confused prefixes. (Because I'm getting too many inputs)

Thanks a bunch and really appreciate it.

November 13, 2012 at 6:16 PM

what is differnt between magician heraldy n destruct heraldy? bth has pAttck damage right ? does good to stack both heraldy?

November 13, 2012 at 6:23 PM

another question , HP gear n VIT gear both give hp right ? which one is good? VIT - HP , Pdefense , HP - just hp

November 14, 2012 at 7:25 AM

magician plate= magic attack power
destruction plate= physical attack power.

No it's not good to stack both. Only choose one. If your character is magic type go with magician and if physical, go with destruction.

November 14, 2012 at 7:27 AM

If you are stacking a lot of HP, then go with HP gear but if your prefer a balance between HP and physical defense, go with VIT. Usually, people like HP on their gloves and boots

well, my crusader just like this sir~

plates :

1.Destruction
2.Magician
3.Wise
4.Bear
5.Shinning
6.Fatal
7.Ultimate
8.Tent

Why no health or life? well, i don't really care about HP
but you can replace bear/wise for health/life, depends on you

Oh and i got around 60% light attack ( Pots, Title, Accessories )
And only 20% for final damage

For Equipments, hmm, almost same with your guide.. xD~
Just share my own build, thanks anyway .. xD~
no hard feeling dude v^^v

Thanks!

Hello. I'm just wondering why you did not put a wise heraldry on the iquisitor build? thanks.

Anonymous
November 27, 2012 at 10:43 PM

hello, i want to ask you which one better for artillery, longbow or crosbow?
and why not using a wise earr/neck than wind neck/earr?

November 30, 2012 at 10:24 PM

I read most of the suffix in google and i'll like to ask about the suffix for saleana..is it better to go for one magic power/intellect + tent? i heard they say tent can reduce magic armor.. i like to hear your advice and suggestions..:D

November 30, 2012 at 11:12 PM

Magic power+intellect+tent is the most known and used gear for magic users. And its a good thing to have. And from the tent suffix part, I think it only applies on defense which you can reduce your magic damage taken and not the other way around.

November 30, 2012 at 11:18 PM

Here is the thing. Longbow gives you more damage, critical, and obviously, a longer range which is what a sharp shooter needs. However, Crossbows hit 3 times in a single burst. Long bows are slower by maybe half a second. The damage is irrelevant because it has a WIDER range. Which means it can hit higher but is also less consistent. Ex. Hitting 3 30s > Hitting 1 50. Crits can be a bonus for any weapon, so that's all there is for that. The only thing I can think of that would slightly change your mind would be the whole 3rd arrow gets pierce.

November 30, 2012 at 11:18 PM

it's probably a typo mistake sir.hehehe.sorry for the confusion.

November 30, 2012 at 11:19 PM

using same suffix on weapon are not great! because they trigger both on attacks. i recommend on warriors to use wind(main weapon) + ironwall(secondary weapon). wind decreases enemy crit resist for 10secs. that has 30secs. cooldown, and ironwall decreases enemy defense for 10secs. that has 30secs cooldown. compare to destruction that have +40%damage on 1 attack but the cooldown was 30secs. note that destruction effects on normal attacks too. from DNSEa westwood server Gladiator my Finishing Attack deals 500k with solo fight(no buffs). Hacking Stance 15k-20k per tick. Weapon= +10Totem Sword WindII and +10 Totem Gauntlet Ironwall II. P.Attack 7.5k + Crit 15k + FD 565.

January 1, 2013 at 5:42 PM

I did a retest on this. and it's proven true. Thanks for a great tip sir.

IS IT OKAY TO MAINTAIN IT OR SHOULD I CHANGE IT?

sir, wind+destruct will cancel suffix effect...

is either dual wind or wind + iron wall

for magic , magic power + tent or dual intellect ,if not suffix effect might have a chance of overlapping. Thus cancel the effect

Hi, I am still new here so I want to know just how dark damage is beneficial to moonlord, gladiator & the other classes. Thank you.

January 11, 2013 at 6:52 PM

if you haven't notice yet, Dark damage are the elemental attacks which has everyone don't focus a lot expcept for Force Users. So, it is wise to go with Dark elemental which everyone don't have :). That's is the logic why I have Dark damage in these warrior classes.

I didn't know Moonlords has Dark damage. BTW, I heard that in DN CN's lvl 60 update, stacking of same suffix will not work. I hope it doesn't apply in DN SEA. (Intellect Stacking will be a bad idea if that happens)

The word "Best" in many articles in this blog is not really "best". It's just SEO. But to be fair, those article are decent with strong argument and clear explanation.

February 4, 2013 at 8:58 PM

Hello sir Leynard Ondar, Im a lvl 40 elementalist atm with 400 gold and i've only played dn for about 3 weeks. I won't be able to purchase the gears when i reach lvl 50 since those are so expensive. Can you suggest if i will just buy lvl 40 blue armors then farm until i have a lot of money or i have other options? Im just using lvl 32 equips atm.

Why is it not recommended for WW main weapon to have destruction II suffix? I am using this item set now because it has a large increase in atk power:

Main: Destruction II (706-800+)
Second: Wind II [200(?)+-300(?)+]

I didnt get to compare the atk power when Main:WindII/Second:DestructionII item set was used...

March 2, 2013 at 10:11 AM

laynard you've got wrong combination. well in classes and set of item is fine butposition is badly wrong

you said @ post of january 3 2013

totem for weapon immortal and victor for armor?
badly wrong because there's no FD in victor armors its on weapon (--.)

March 5, 2013 at 3:17 AM

Good Evening... they say that HP suffix can trigger at only one time... so maybe either gloves or shoe can be suffixed... not both.
